Project Outsourcing

Our Primary Audience

Ideal Software's primary service is project outsourcing. We typically cater to companies that:
  1. Do not have the budget to hire developers full time.

  2. Require a solution, which helps them to automate their business. That is, a turn key solution which allows them to be productive without having to manage, support and run a software development team.

  3. Have developers in house but need, for a limited time, additional help and expertise in a specific area of the project.

  4. Require a tool or component, which will be used in the companies product. For example a component, which manages scheduling of manufacturing software system devices.

The Challenges of Outsourcing a Project

The founders of Ideal Software, Inc. this company know how difficult it can be to outsource a project. Here are a few things, which can happen when a project is outsourced.
  1. There is a lack of communication between the parties.

  2. The project is complete, but doesn't have all the features it was supposed to have, but this is discovered after the outsourcing shop has cleared out and moved on to their next project.

  3. There is no way for the product to be maintained by anyone but the outsourcing company. Thus you have a heavy dependency on this company. This results in additional costs, potentially exhorbent fees.

  4. It's impossible to change the product because it was poorly designed.

  5. There is no documentation written because the documentation was a low priority and there just wasn't any time to complete the docs, so you have no documentation. So, you have to hire another developer to figure out what the outsourcing company was doing.
There is no denying it, outsourcing can be problematic.

The 'Ideal Software' Way

When Ideal Software, Inc. was being conceived, the principals sat down and carefully considered what would be important to a customer. They realized that in order to determine what a customer's needs are you first have to put yourself in the customer's position and ask the question, "What would I expect?"

They felt the following things were important to the customer and that by providing this to the customer as a standard policy, that the customer's experience working with an outsourcing company would be a more pleasant, productive and a positive experience. And of course that this would ensure the customer wound up with a product which met the requirements and expectations of the client. Below is a sampling of some of the things we felt were important to provide to a customer when we outsource a project for them.
  1. Careful and precise Design
  2. Detailed Documentation
  3. Excellent Communication
  4. Quality in mind in everything you do on the project.

This is the minimal of what we would expect if we were outsourcing a project, we feel you should expect and receive at least this type of service whether you use our services or another companies.
